Post 6. Why do you want to
be a veterinarian?
Since I was a
little kid, I have had all kind of pets, such as dogs, cats, hamsters,
laboratory mice and gerbils. My brothers and I, usually found little abandoned
dogs and we always wanted to adopt them, but our parents didn't let us have
pets, so we kept them hide in some room but they finally realized that we had
them.
The first pet
we had was a dog called 'Cariñosa' when I was 5 years old. One day she run away
and she was attacked by other dog, she bled out and didn't survive. Every time
I see animals suffering, I wish I could do something for them. Seeing the pain
in their faces and feeling the impotence of not knowing what to do in that
moment, made me study veterinary medicine.
Till now I
have learnt a lot about animals and I could understand more about my pets. I
like the relationship between animals and humans, I would like to internalize
deeper in this field.
Other career
that I was interested in was theater, something very different, even though, I
have always found it interesting.
